Rebecca’s story

During her childhood, Rebecca Min found herself perpetually fascinated with artistic expression whether it be painting, drawing, three dimensional collage, crafts, and even her personal style. As she grew, she also developed a love of the decorative arts, movies, music, antique and unusual items as well as ephemeral collections, all of which continue to inspire her today in many aspects of her daily life.

During her last year of high school in Ojai, California, Rebecca got her first dose of involved interest in oil painting and was then given the opportunity to attend the prestigious Otis Parsons School of Design in Paris, France, transferring later to the Los Angeles branch. While taking some some time off from her formal education to work, she went on to explore more artistic possibilities through local San Diego colleges, including photography, furniture design, print making, collage and fashion design, while simultaneously continuing her foundation in life drawing.

In 2002, Rebecca decided to follow her true callings, oil painting and tattooing. She attended the equally prestigious San Francisco Art Institute in Russian Hill completing her Bachelor in Fine Arts degree. Immediately following her graduation, she continued on to her planned tattoo apprenticeship under a talented, well known San Diego tattoo artist, Mike Sirot.

After a couple of years of building her skills and preparing to move on to the next step in her career, Rebecca took the professional step up to work in Tattoo Mike's custom tattoo shop, Chronic Tattoo in Pacific Beach, where she worked on her craft and learned from her skilled coworkers for the next six years.

Today, Rebecca works with her friend and the gifted proprietor of the beautiful Eden Tattoo Gallery, Mike Sirot. She pulls from her classical formal training and her love of the unusual, organic and human forms with a meticulous and discerning eye.
